I'm on some kind Asian-trip right now, which means much manga-fanart and much samurai-like art. To me, the culture is very fascinating. I've been to a samurai & geisha - exhibition last week and saw some kimonos, armor and weapons. The work which was put into the details of those items is impressive.

Interesting!

I can see why it looks empty, but to me, I guess I see it as the style of the illustration. The details that are there are very well done, and I think you have done a wonderfull job with it.

It is appealing to look at but I think the tree's are either to stylised or you got sick of painting cherry blosom's. I'm not sure how to do tree's fast though. They also don't seem to meet the ground nicly. The color's in them are less saturated in then tree's as to the rest of the picture. Hope I was of help.

I think the space helps to punctuate the reflective tone suggested in the picture and in the title. I like the red details in her garments, too.
